America's Next Top Model Cycle 16 Episode 5

    :::Rachel Zoe

This week, the girls had a Covergirl challenge with is to create an Online commercial. They were divided into groups of three containing one director, one script writer and one talent. Well, everybody was happy with their group except for Molly and Monique, because  they were stuck with Alexandria, which we all know could be a little bit bossy and bitchy. But they talked about it and got through the commercial. But Mikaela, Britanni and Kasia won the challenge.

They received a Tyra mail saying something about being on the wild side. And they had a photoshoot in an old zoo posing with a baby jaguar. Hannah wowed Mr. Jay and as well as the Judges(Rachel Zoe was the guest judge this week), which made her photo the photo of the week.

Best Photo: Hannah

The Judges felt that Dalya came flat in the commercial, where she was the talent, and in the photoshoot. And she was sent home..

Eliminated: Dalya

Who do you think will be eliminated Next week??

Only on the CW wed 8/9pm

America's Next Top Model Cycle 16 Episode 4

    :::Francesco Carrozzini

This week on 'America's Next Top Model' the girls walked in a Geoffrey Mac fashion show on a runway that was on fire! The actual runway wasn't completely on fire, but there were flames everywhere.

Some of the models nailed it, while other's not so much, but it was Dalya who stood out in Ms. Jay's mind and she won two awesome Geoffrey Mac dresses. But, Hannah, Kasia, and Sara didn't do so hot and in a random twist were forced to walk home as punishment!The 'ANTM' producers really mean business this season! First, with the fiery death walk down the runway, and then making the losers of the challenge walk all the way back to the model house. I suppose it makes for a more interesting season.

The only girl who has really been vilified this season is Alexandria, who brought the attitude again to this week's commercial challenge. She's got the same kind of swagger as Jade from cycle six. For the second time, the judges had to check her on her attitude. I mean, she was running around during the Fierce Coffee commercial directing the lighting people, the gaffers, consoling Brittani like she was her mother, and even giving "helpful" suggestions to Francesco Carrozzini!

Sara had a really bad week, first with being in the bottom two at the last elimination, and then with the whole runway debacle. I really felt for her. She was still reeling from last week's judges panel, when Tyra told her that she lacked self-confidence, and then to top it off she had some major issues with the Fierce Coffee commercial. She had trouble reconciling her identify as a feminist, and though she strove to be more feminine, she was worried about losing some street cred from her fem-core friends back home.

There was no Photoshoot this week, so I used the photos that were taken before the cycle started.

Best Take: Kasia

Eliminated: Sara

I'm sorry, but Sara really needed to suck it up. That's what being a model is all about. She's supposed to be a blank canvas for designers, photographers, and casting agents to use to bring their vision to life. She tried to channel her inner sex goddess, but unfortunately, I don't think she has one and neither did the judges and as a result she was sent home.

America's Next Top Model Cycle 16 Episode 3

:::Lori Goldstein

It’s time for makeovers! The girls put the fate of their hair in the hands of stylists! Episode “Lori Goldstein” aired on March 9, 2011.

Molly's hair tragedy:

Most seasons of ANTM have really dramatic cuts and colors. But not this cycle. The most dramatic makeovers went to Brittani and Molly. Brittani embraced her chin length straight black hair with bangs. But Molly had a little trouble adjusting…and reasonably so. The salon brought in an outside stylist to give Molly an eccentric bleach blonde weave. But she did a poor job and you could still see her real hair underneath. Nightmare!

After doing a photo shoot to show off their new do’s, the girls moved onto their challenge. With a clue that talks about photosynthesis, the girls knew that they’d be working with plants. They arrived at a ranch, and were excited to see that they’d be working with famous stylist Lori Goldstein. She dressed the girls in couture gowns, and they posed in groups of two or three. While group shots require that the girls work together to deliver a great photo, they still need to try and outshine their partners.

Best Photo: Alexandria

Eliminated: Dominique

At panel, Tyra and the judges had nice things to say about most of the girls’ photos. The know-it-all of the house, Alexandria, walked away with best photo. But Lorrie did mention to Tyra that Alexandria’s diva attitude on set made her unpleasant to work with (which led to smirks from a few of the girls). Androgynous Sara and freckled Dominique landed in the bottom two. This was the second straight week that Dominique wound up on the chopping block. And as a result, she was chopped!

America's Next Top Model Cycle 16 Episode 2

:::Alek Wek

The girls had to look bee-utiful, while posing with a swarm of bumblebees! Check out “Alek Wek,” which aired on March 2, 2011.

The drama has already begun in the Top Model house, and the bossy, know-it-all Alexandria seems to be the source of it all. Unfortunately, she can dish it, but she can’t take it. And her attitude resulted in a blow up between her and Dahlia.

For this week’s challenge, a professional acting coach taught the girls to come out of their shell and face their fears. They each drew a picture of their inner critic. Then the coach played the role of their critic, egging them on and discouraging them, while the girls learned to overcome their fears. Ondrei struggled with this. She recently lost both of her brothers—one in a car accident, and another in a murder. This exercise made her question her readiness to compete in the competition.

All the girls did surprisingly well at their photo shoot with photographer Mike Rosenthal. At least as far as the bees were concerned. No one seemed overly afraid. While Hannah did tear up over her lack of focus, the tears helped her deliver a magical picture.

Best Photo: Hannah

Eliminated: Nicole

Most of the girls produced quality photos this week. Hannah received best photo, followed closely by Brittani (who has been runner-up for the second week in a row). Even though she is one of the youngest girls, Brittani may be a strong force in this competition. Due to the difficult time in her personal life, Ondrei decided to bow out of the competition. But because her photo wasn’t the worst this week, Tyra and the judges had to send another girl home—Nicole.

:::Erin Wasson

The semi-finalists for Cycle 16 head to Los Angeles, where Jay Emanuel and Miss J.
help Tyra Banks pull a surprise switcheroo before the 14 finalists are chosen and move into the Top Model penthouse. At a beautiful Malibu estate, the models meet model/designer Erin Wasson and learn to walk a narrow runway in a plastic bubble! Top fashion photographer Russell James is on hand for a backstage photo shoot. Finally, Andr Leon Tally and Nigel Barker join Erin and Tyra Banks on the judges' panel for the first elimination of Cycle 16.

Check out the Bubble Runway from ANTM Cycle 16 Episode 1.

Best Photo:  Molly

Eliminated:  Angelia

We hardly got to know Angelia, but there was time for one obligatory jumping-the-gun statement from her before she was on the chopping block: “Recognize my face and get used to it!”

Let’s leave the runway challenge out of it, because aside from bubble walking wonder-kind Brittani, it was pretty much impossible to reward or punish anyone for that spectacle. The backstage photo shoot, however, was basically a series of staged “candids”. Nigel said she wasn’t present in the shot, which might have something to do with the fact that half of her face was covered in shadows. Apart from that, though, they thought she looked older and had a "cat’s bottom mouth."

Anyway, the bottom two were guilty of the biggest ANTM crimes — Dominique lacked personality, and Angelia was just too darned pretty. “You almost kinda don’t want the boys to really want you,” Tyra explained. “You want the girls to want what you have on.”She added. Dominique has a really interesting look and so we’re OK with how it shook out. Also, the judges were spot on with their top picks: Molly, Brittani,Alexandria and Mikaela were all striking.

Ty’s parting words to Angelia: “
You have to go home and practice and get some pictures that look more striking than you are.”
